The charges against Alec Baldwin, in connection with the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of “Rust,” have been dropped. Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced the decision on Thursday, stating that there was not enough evidence to charge Baldwin with “intentional or reckless behavior.” The incident occurred during a rehearsal, when Baldwin discharged a prop firearm, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.

Baldwin expressed his condolences and took responsibility for the tragedy, stating that he would never fully recover from the trauma. The incident has sparked a renewed debate over safety protocols on film sets and the use of prop firearms.
