Nigeria plans Belgian Arts and Culture Festival.

The Embassy of Nigeria in Belgium is excited to announce the upcoming Nigerian Arts and Culture Festival, which will be held in Antwerp, Belgium next month. This festival aims to promote Nigeria’s rich culture and contribute to the growth of the tourism industry in Belgium. The festival is organized in collaboration with Nigerian community/associations in Belgium and the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority (NTDA).

A Celebration of Art, Music, and Culture

The festival, themed “Unity 2023,” will showcase various forms of arts and cultural exhibitions, Nigerian dance performances, traditional music, authentic Nigerian cuisine, and screenings of Nigerian movies, among other exciting activities. The goal of this event is to introduce Belgium, African, Caribbean, and other communities in Antwerp to the diverse cultural heritage of Nigeria, while also fostering unity among Nigerian associations in Belgium.

An International Gathering

The festival will be attended by officials from the European Union, Belgian government, Organisation of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States, as well as other friends of Nigeria. The event will take place at the Antwerp Cricket Center on the second of next month. It is important to note that the festival is open to the public, and admission is free.

Nigeria: A Nation of Cultural Diversity

Nigeria holds the distinction of being the most culturally diverse nation in Africa. With its rich heritage of songs, dance, drama, costumes, and art and craft products, Nigeria has made a significant global impact. Many Nigerians have achieved international recognition in the fields of music, film, art, and crafts, showcasing the country’s cultural excellence.

Promoting Economic Diversification and Tourism

The Nigerian government is committed to diversifying the economy and developing the tourism sector. Through events like the Nigerian Arts and Culture Festival, Nigeria aims to create awareness about its cultural treasures and attract tourists to experience the country’s uniqueness firsthand. This festival serves as a platform to highlight Nigeria’s potential as a destination for cultural tourism, thereby contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of the nation.

Past Success: Nigeria – Belgium – Luxembourg Business Forum

In June this year, the Embassy of Nigeria in Belgium, in collaboration with the Belgium Luxembourg Nigeria Chamber of Commerce (BLNCC), Afrinex, and A-Law, organized the Nigeria – Belgium – Luxembourg Business Forum. This highly successful event brought together over 200 businesses from Europe and Nigeria. Key industry players and government officials discussed various sectors of the economy, including agric-business, renewable energy, health, construction/infrastructure, and financial services.
