Most Complete Gigantic Dinosaur on Display at London Museum
The National History Museum in London is showcasing the “most complete gigantic dinosaur ever discovered,” in the form of a cast of a Patagotitan mayorum fossil in the museum’s Waterhouse Gallery.
About Patagotitan Mayorum
The Patagotitan mayorum is a type of titanosaur, known for being the largest animals to walk the earth. The herbivorous creature would have weighed approximately 57 tons and measured around 121 feet in length from nose to tail. The museum says that it would have eaten around 129 kg (284 pounds) of greens per day.
Transport and Exhibition
The cast of Patagotitan mayorum was provided by the Museo Paleontologico Egidio Feruglio in Argentina, and transported to London in 36 crates on two British Airways flights by IAG Cargo, the company responsible for transportation of the exhibit.
Visitors can now enjoy the exhibit in the National History Museum.
