Telenovela Executive Joins Telemundo 20 San Diego as Vice President of News
Telemundo 20 San Diego (KUAN-TV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Adolfo Segura as its Vice President of News, effective August 28. Segura will bring his expertise from his previous role as the Vice President of News for Telemundo 33 (KCSO) and Telemundo 51 Fresno (KNSO) to oversee the newsrooms and multi-platform news operations at KUAN-TV. Reporting directly to Melissa “Missy” Crawford, President and General Manager of NBC 7 and Telemundo 20, Segura is expected to enhance the station’s strategic vision and further its reach in the diverse communities of San Diego.
A Proven Leader in News Expansion and Unified Storytelling
Segura is an accomplished news professional, with a number of accolades including an Emmy Award. During his four-year tenure as VP of News for KCSO and KNSO, he successfully expanded the newsroom staff and improved overall coverage for local audiences in Sacramento and Fresno. He also played a key role in the launch of the stations’ new studio, graphics, and workflow. Prior to this, Segura served as the VP of News for Telemundo 60/KVDA for six years, where he established the station’s first border news bureau. Segura’s extensive experience also includes newsroom roles at Univision and Telemundo. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Nevada.
