Good Samaritan Goes Viral After High School Senior’s Car Crash
Social media is playing a key role in helping a high school senior, Harvey Shelton, search for the Good Samaritan who helped him after his car accident went viral. The accident happened in Arkansas just hours before his graduation ceremony.
Shelton was pinned underneath a semi-truck after swerving to avoid an oncoming Jeep. His car’s drivers side and front had been badly crushed. Despite this, he remained calm thanks to a Good Samaritan named Darrell who held his hand tightly and promised to stay until the emergency services arrived. After about an hour, first responders took Shelton to the hospital.
Shelton’s father and step-mother were on their way to the graduation ceremony when they found out about the accident. They were relieved to see their son alive and well just a day after the crash happened.
Second Chance at Graduation
Despite his severe injuries, Harvey Shelton made it to his graduation ceremony thanks to a recreation put on by his high school. With his family present, Shelton walked across the stage surrounded by all of his loved ones. He considers it a blessing and is grateful for each moment he gets.
Social Media Helps Find the Good Samaritan
After the accident, Harvey’s family used social media to try to locate Darrell, the Good Samaritan who had helped their son during his critical time. They eventually found him, and he attended the graduation ceremony.

Following his graduation, Harvey Shelton plans to pursue his dream of joining the military. He is grateful for every moment of his second chance and is determined to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way.
