The ADA Presents a Free Webinar on Creating Lender-Ready Business Plans
The American Dental Association (ADA) is offering a free webinar on April 11th to help dentists create lender-ready business plans that can increase the chances of short- and long-term success and attract potential partners, associates, investors, and lenders. The webinar, titled Lender-Ready Business Plans: How to Create a First-Rate Plan, is scheduled to live stream from noon-1 p.m. Central time and is worth one hour of continuing education credit. A recording of the program will also be made available for those who can’t attend on April 11th through ADA CE Online.
The webinar will be presented by Ronald Milsap, who is the director of business banking at BMO Bank, and Jeffrey Kerst, D.D.S, a dentist from Kerst & Caskey Family Dentistry in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The event is designed to help attendees understand how to create a business plan, including the common sections in a business plan and the types of details to incorporate into each section. The presentation will also offer guidance on how business plans mature according to the stage of a practice in operation, identify key resources to help develop and maintain a business plan, and provide guidance on who a business plan is essential for, and how to keep it current.
Webinar Takeaways: Why a Lender-Ready Business Plan is Important
The presenters offered insights into the benefits of having a lender-ready business plan. Dr. Jeffrey Kerst emphasizes that without a plan, failure is almost inevitable, particularly in an industry like dentistry where change is constant. A well-developed business plan helps dental practices adapt to changes, secure funding, navigate dental insurance, and create effective marketing plans.
Ronald Milsap added that a business plan is essentially a roadmap that provides a comprehensive perspective of the business from all angles, including market and competition analysis, team motivation, and planning for the future. Businesses can use the plan to test the feasibility of a startup idea, raise finance from lenders and investors, and hold themselves accountable for their plans and outcomes.
