Travellers from Qatar Booking Holidays for Eid Al Fitr
Travellers from Qatar are booking holidays for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr celebrations. According to industry sources, London, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Thailand, Georgia, Maldives, and Cyprus are among the most popular destinations for tourists departing from Qatar.
The simplified e-visa process for Saudi Arabia and Umrah has contributed to an increase in the number of pilgrims from Qatar. Ahmed Atta, Sales and Marketing Manager at Victoria Travels, says that the company sold more than 10,000 tickets to these destinations.
Customised Travel Packages
Many pilgrims from Qatar are interested in purchasing customised travel packages that provide easy and convenient options. Atta explains that Victoria Travels offers packages starting from QR2,900 that include flights, accommodation, and transportation to popular destinations such as Saudi Arabia and Georgia.
Travel industry officials expect more ticket sales as the Eid Al Fitr holiday draws nearer.
Preferred Destinations for Qataris
Europe remains a popular attraction for Qataris, while countries like Georgia and Turkiye are preferred by others. General Manager of Regency Travels and Tours, Manoj Tiwari, says that London, Paris, and other European cities are among the favourite places for Qataris to visit. Meanwhile, Asians prefer destinations such as the UAE, Maldives, Georgia, Netherlands, Azerbaijan, and Turkiye, depending on the on-arrival visa provided.
Expatriates Travelling Home for Eid
Many expatriates in Qatar also choose to travel to their home countries for the holiday. Tiwari explains that many who book with Regency Travels and Tours travel to India, the Philippines, and Pakistan to spend time with their loved ones. Tiwari adds that there has been a surge in travel bookings during Eid, and this is expected to continue growing year-by-year.
