The Tempe 1st resident coalition has issued a statement regarding the economic analysis of the proposed Tempe Entertainment District, which is subject to the passing or rejection of Propositions 301, 302 and 303. The Grand Canyon Institute released its analysis of the project on 17 April, with the result dividing opinion. Supporters include the Tempe City Council and former officials, while critics argue that the $395m project would be a “financial drain” on the city. The Tempe 1st press release encouraged residents to vote against the propositions and return their postal ballots by 9 May.
