Congressman Ted Lieu of California agrees that Congress must catch up with the amazing benefits and potential hazards of AI and is currently introducing a bill to create a commission that will make recommendations on regulating AI.
AI Regulation may be Ineffective
University of California-Irvine law professor Dan Burk, on the other hand, argues that regulation will likely be outpaced by technology, minimizing its effectiveness.

Republican Congressman Michael McCaul of Texas stresses the dangers of unchecked AI development and emphasizes the need for the U.S. to prioritize the development of safe and secure AI technology.
