Sydney Sweeney’s Approach to Acting
When it comes to preparing for a role, Sydney Sweeney has a unique approach. The 25-year-old actress, known for her roles in shows like “Euphoria” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” creates “character books” for every character she plays. These books include details like possible memories, relationships, and failures.
In her latest film, “Reality,” Sydney portrays Reality Winner, the former translator for the NSA who became known for leaking information. Despite portraying a real person in the film, Sydney approached the role in the same way she approaches all her characters.
“I build their entire life from the day they’re born to the first page of the script,” Sydney explained in an interview with Big Issue magazine. “Their memories, a timeline of their life, relationships. I look at all my characters as real people that lie in a TV screen.”
Meeting the real Reality Winner was a crucial part of Sydney’s preparation for the role. “When I first read it, I felt like I was in this box. I was trying to figure out how to find the freedom within it,” she said. “And then after I actually spoke with Reality, I went back and reread it and I saw so much of her in it. It just flowed and rolled off my tongue so much easier.”
Sydney’s dedication to her craft and meticulous approach to character development have made her a standout performer in the industry. We can’t wait to see what roles she tackles next!
