Stylists, designers promote inclusive fashion for all bodies.

Stylists, designers promote inclusive fashion for all bodies.

Fashion stylists say that it is impossible for one sample size to fit all. Factors such as business sense, infrastructure limitations, and discrimination determine whether a brand will dress a star in a sample size or not. However, a fashion fairy godmother like stylist-producer Rhea Kapoor can create custom couture for a star of any body type. In the past, designers would hesitate to dress celebrities who were not considered stylish, causing limitations for stars like Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Parineeti Chopra, Bhumi Pednekar, and even Aishwarya Rai. However, with the rise of influencers and social media, designers are becoming more inclusive and ensuring that all sizes and shapes are represented. Even established stars like Sonam Kapoor can have custom-made outfits that fit their bodies. When it comes to sourcing clothes, a celebrity’s relationship with the designer and practical considerations such as time and infrastructure also come into play. Inclusive brands like Urvashi Kaur and Norblack Norwhite are leading the charge to create samples in more varied sizes.
