Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Shut Down Due to Package Investigation
On Sunday evening, the departures level at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was shut down due to heavy police response, which was initiated to investigate a suspicious package. The Port of Seattle police are investigating the package, located on the ticketing level inside the terminal, “out of an abundance of caution”. As a result, the upper drive has been closed, and passengers may experience rerouting on-site for departures and ticketing.
Closure of Security Checkpoints 3, 4, and 5
The security checkpoints 3, 4, and 5 have also been closed, while officers investigate the incident using bomb disposal robots. The airport has advised travelers to arrive earlier than usual on Sunday night.
