The Boston Bruins will be going up against the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 1. After losing their fifth straight game last contest against the New York Islanders, the Bruins’ lineup will be sporting a new look.

According to the Boston Globe’s Kevin Paul Dupont, recent call-ups Jeffrey Viel, Ian Mitchell, and Georgii Merkulov will all be in the lineup for Boston. In addition, Justin Brazeau will be scratched after sporting a minus-1 rating against the Islanders last game.

Viel played in one game for Boston earlier this season, where he memorably dropped the gloves with Columbus Blue Jackets enforcer Mathieu Olivier. With Viel back in the lineup, expect him to provide plenty of energy with his extremely physical style of play.

Mitchell, 26, will be making his season debut with Boston against the Penguins. The right-shot defenseman played in 13 games last season with the Original Six club, posting two assists, 10 penalty minutes, and a plus-6 rating. In 46 games this season with the Providence Bruins, he has four goals, 27 points, and a plus-11 rating.

Merkulov, 24, has played in three games this season with Boston, where he has an assist and a minus-1 rating. Down in the AHL with Providence this campaign, he has 13 goals and 44 points in 47 contests.
