The Payne County Live Well Coalition has been designated a County Health Improvement Organization, recognizing its unwavering commitment to fostering health and well-being within Payne County.

This designation is a testament to the coalition’s dedication and proactive approach to addressing community health challenges. By assuming the CHIO role, the coalition is poised to create a lasting impact through innovative public health programs and collaborations with other health-focused organizations across Oklahoma.

Dr. Kari Pratt — associate director of campus wellness at Oklahoma State University’s Department of Wellness and the Payne County Live Well Coalition chair — shared her enthusiasm about this achievement.

“This certification signifies the Payne County Live Well Coalition’s commitment to improving health and social care within Payne County,” Pratt said. “The CHIO certification connects our coalition with a network of other community-centered innovators through the Oklahoma Primary Health Care Extension System.”

The mission of the Payne County Live Well Coalition is to ensure the ability to live well in Payne County by increasing collaboration and access to healthy life options. The coalition focuses on fostering social support, promoting health equity, developing health-conscious infrastructure and protecting the socially vulnerable in the community.
