International Tenor Rafael Helbig-Kostka Returns to Red Bluff for Encore Performance

On Sunday, August 6, at 4 pm, the renowned international tenor, Rafael Helbig-Kostka, will be returning to Red Bluff for an encore performance at Sacred Heart Church. This highly anticipated event is expected to amaze and captivate the audience with a diverse selection of classical, contemporary, sacred, and secular music. From Handel to Bob Dylan, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

A Legacy of Talent and Passion

Rafael Helbig-Kostka’s connection to the Sacred Heart community goes way back. Twenty-five years ago, he made his first public performance as a Sacred Heart Kindergartner during the Christmas Eve Mass in the historic church. Since then, his talent and passion for music have blossomed.

At the age of 11, Helbig-Kostka moved to Redding, where he attended the Redding School of the Arts. It was here that he took center stage and starred in his first opera, “Amahl and the Night Visitors.” His exceptional voice and stage presence caught the attention of many, and it was clear that he was destined for greatness.

Awards and Education

In 2011, Helbig-Kostka was honored with the prestigious North State Symphony Young Artist Award. This recognition catapulted his career to new heights as he performed with the orchestra and the local Masterworks Chorale at Red Bluff’s State Theatre.

Dedicated to his craft, Helbig-Kostka pursued higher education in music. He graduated from California State University-Stanislaus and went on to earn a Master’s Degree from the renowned New England Conservatory in Boston. Seeking further artistic development, he moved to Austria and studied at the prestigious Opera Studio in Linz for two years.
