The La Jolla Light has compiled a list of both online and local in-person events, including the Mount Soledad Memorial Association’s Memorial Day ceremony honoring Navy Aviation Radioman 3rd Class Walter “Uncle Bert” Mintus, the Sanford Burnham Prebys lecture “G12: Can Science Mend a Broken Heart?” with Alexandre Colas, and the La Jolla/Riford Library’s Pen to Paper writing class. Families and children can enjoy the Let’s Do Ballet with City Ballet of San Diego, while health and fitness enthusiasts can take part in the La Jolla Newcomers Club’s Saturday Morning Walkers or Jaruska Solyova’s Breathe & Bliss yoga class. Art and culture events include The Music of Harold Arlen performance, kintsugi workshop, and the Love All play by La Jolla Playhouse. The La Jolla Art Association exhibition, and exhibits at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and UC San Diego are also available for viewing. Finally, The Marine Room restaurant presents A Conscious Catch, a sustainable-seafood dinner benefiting the Walter Munk Foundation for the Oceans.
