This Week in Navy Sports
As the Navy athletic teams gear up for another exciting week of competition, let’s take a closer look at their upcoming events and recent results.
Heavyweight Rowing
The Navy heavyweight rowing team hasn’t had any events recently, and won’t be on the water this week either. However, with a 3-8 record for the season, they’ll likely be using this time to prepare for their next matchup.
Lightweight Rowing
The No. 7 Navy lightweight rowing team is also taking a break this week, having not competed since their April 24 loss to Columbia. With a 4-4 record for the season, they’ll be looking to regroup before their next challenge.
Women’s Rowing
Unlike the other Navy rowing teams, the women’s squad has a big event coming up this week. After being idle for a week, they’ll be competing at the NCAA Championship from Friday to Sunday in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. With a 1-3 record for the season, this will be a great opportunity for the team to showcase their talent and make a statement on the national stage.
Intercollegiate Sailing
After not having any events last week, the Navy sailing team is gearing up for a busy weekend. First, they’ll be participating in the ICSA Women’s Fleet Race Championship from Tuesday to Friday in Kings Point, NY. Then, they’ll be competing in the ICSA Team Race Championship from Saturday to Monday, also in Kings Point. With the Navy sailing program consistently being one of the best in the nation, expect some impressive performances from the team.
Men’s and Women’s Track & Field
Lastly, the Navy men’s and women’s track and field teams will be competing at the NCAA Regional Championship from Wednesday to Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida. With both teams having a solid record for the season (3-0 for the men, 2-1 for the women), they’ll be looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Overall, it promises to be an exciting week for Navy sports fans, with multiple teams in action and several important events on the schedule. Be sure to tune in to the live video and results as they unfold, and cheer the Navy teams on to victory!
