Main Line Health Receives American Hospital Association Quest for Quality Prize
Main Line Health has been honored with the prestigious 2023 American Hospital Association Quest for Quality Prize. This annual award acknowledges exceptional healthcare leadership and innovation in improving quality and advancing health.
Other Recognized Healthcare Organizations
Alongside Main Line Health, two other healthcare organizations have also been awarded Citations of Merit. These organizations include Atlantic Health System in Morristown and University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago, Ill. The American Hospital Association established the Quest for Quality Prize in 2002.

Main Line Health, serving Philadelphia and its suburbs, comprises four acute care hospitals — Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Paoli Hospital, and Riddle Hospital — as well as Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital. Main Line Health’s Equity Work
Main Line Health initiated its equity work over a decade ago, with efforts to increase equity and inclusion embedded throughout the organization. From the Quality Safety and Equity Committee to front-line staff, the organization seeks to promote equity and inclusion in all aspects of its operations.
AHA Recognizes Main Line Health’s Leadership and Innovation
The American Hospital Association commended the leadership team members at Main Line Health for their engagement and depth of knowledge in achieving quality goals. The association further praised Main Line Health’s dedication to promoting better care through innovation, citing its new behavioral health unit as a potential national model for the field.

Rick Pollack, President and CEO of the American Hospital Association, expressed his admiration for this year’s AHA Quest for Quality Prize honorees. Application Eligibility and Criteria
According to the American Hospital Association’s website, all health systems and hospitals in the U.S. are eligible to apply for the Quest for Quality Prize. To qualify, applicants should provide access to exceptional quality, safe, and patient- and family-centered care. They should also partner with community organizations and agencies to improve community health status and address disparities, as well as develop new and innovative models of care.
