NASA’s Spaceline: Life Science Research Update.

SPACELINE Current Awareness Lists, distributed via listserv and available on the NASA Task Book website, provide information on recent and upcoming peer-reviewed articles in the field of space life sciences. NASA authors and PIs are invited to submit their articles for inclusion in the lists. Recent articles of interest include studies on neuropsychological effects of deep spaceflight, the need for a systems approach to spaceflight health and medicine, sex differences in perceptions of sleep inertia, and enabling astronaut self-scheduling. Other articles cover topics such as the effects of spaceflight on the gut microbiome, optimizing mission success, postural adaptation to microgravity, and simulated microgravity-induced cognitive impairment. Funding for these studies comes from NASA, the Translational Research Institute for Space Health, and other organizations.
