Apple TV’s Multiview Feature is Now Available on tvOS Beta 16.5
Apple is finally getting ready to release its Multiview feature, which was first discovered by Steve Moser, a developer, last month. According to TechCrunch, the feature is now available for beta testers on the tvOS beta 16.5 version. To gain access to this beta, users need to navigate to the Settings app and then hit System > Software Updates > and Get Beta Updates.
How to Activate Multiview on Apple TV
TechCrunch suggests that once beta access is gained, users can activate the Multiview feature by turning on a game and selecting the “Add Game” option. The layout can be customized depending on the user’s preferences. Users can enlarge one of the games while others can be stacked up on the right side of the screen. Alternatively, two games can be viewed side by side. Additionally, the audio for each game can be changed using the Apple TV remote.
YouTube TV also Offers Multiview
Apple is not the only streaming service to experiment with Multiview feature. YouTube TV also introduced this feature in March for sports games. However, it is more limited compared to Apple’s version. Currently, Youtube TV’s Multiview experience cannot be customized, and users have to choose from curated multiview bundles created by Youtube TV itself.
Apple Multiview for Tomorrow’s Major League Soccer
According to The Verge, the Multiview feature will be available during tomorrow’s Major League Soccer games on Apple TV Plus. The release is as yet unconfirmed by Apple, and it remains unclear if this feature will become available to users who do not have the Apple TV 4K device.
