Adopting Technology in Agriculture
The Agriculture Today podcast starts with a discussion on the challenges of technology adoption in agriculture. Tomas Nilsson, a faculty member at Olds College of Agriculture and Technology, and Terry Griffin, K-State cropping systems economist, give insights on how technology can face hindrances in adoption by producers in agriculture.
Tomas shares his research on technological adoption in Canada, while Terry offers some insights on the similarities between Canada and Kansas. They discuss how producers may be hesitant to adopt new technologies due to the costs involved, a lack of understanding of how to effectively use new technologies, and limited access to broadband internet in some areas.
Controlling Weeds at Home
Gregg Eyestone, K-State Research and Extension horticulture agent for Riley County, shares some tips on controlling weeds in the home landscape and vegetable garden. Gregg suggests using mulch, hand-pulling, or spraying with herbicides to control weeds.
