The Milwaukee Brewers announced today that Marti Wronski, Chief Operating Officer of the Club, has been named to the Sports Business Journal Game Changers Class of 2023. Wronski is one of 50 women honored and one of four representatives from across Major League Baseball to be recognized for leadership, vision, and innovation within the sports industry.

Dynamic Leader and Business Executive

Wronski has demonstrated her dynamic leadership and business expertise in the sports industry and Major League Baseball throughout her twenty-year career with the Milwaukee Brewers. Starting as in-house counsel, she has risen to become part of the club’s senior executive team. In 2022, Wronski was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, making her the only female COO in Major League Baseball and one of the few in major professional sports.

Recognition and Gratitude

Speaking about Wronski’s achievement, Brewers President – Business Operations Rick Schlesinger said, “We are proud to have Marti recognized by Sports Business Journal for her leadership role with the organization and depth of expertise. Marti plays a critical role on our senior management team, a role that has expanded over the years as she has worked collaboratively to achieve success on and off the field. We are grateful for Marti’s contributions and congratulate her on this highly deserved honor.”

Expressing her gratitude, Wronski said, “The talent and impact represented by the executives named to the Game Changers Class of 2023 is real and inspiring. I am truly grateful and humbled to be among these women. I am grateful to Brewers Chairman and Principal Owner, Mark Attanasio, and Rick Schlesinger for the trust placed in me over the past 20 years, and to our incredible leadership team and employees who make our collective success possible.”

Responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Wronski has a direct oversight of the legal, information technology, human resources, and business analytics teams. She is also responsible for identifying and implementing operational processes and efficiencies required to continue the growth and evolution of the Brewers brand. Additionally, Wronski serves as the club’s General Counsel.

Award-Winning Career

During her tenure with the Brewers, Wronski has received several accolades, including being named a “Woman of Influence” by the Milwaukee Business Journal and being listed in the “Forty Under 40” by the Business Journal. She has also been recognized as a “Top Corporate Counsel” member. Wronski received an honorary PhD from St. Norbert College and was presented with the Joseph E. O’Neill Award by Marquette University Law School, which is given to an individual in the sports industry who has made a significant contribution to the field while exemplifying the highest ethical standards. Wronski has actively served on multiple community boards in the Milwaukee area, including the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, and has been a close friend of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin.
