Scottsdale-chartered Grand Canyon Chapter presents Women in American History Award to Jolyana Begay-Kroupa
The Phoenix Indian Center CEO, Jolyana Begay-Kroupa, was awarded the Women in American History Award by the Scottsdale-chartered Grand Canyon Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution on March 3. Traci Morris, the president of the Phoenix Indian Center’s board of directors, described Begay-Kroupa as a “confident, strategic leader and an adept advocate for Phoenix Indian Center.”
Begay-Kroupa, a member of Navajo Nation, has a Master of Arts in social and philosophical foundation of education, and works as a part-time Diné language instructor at Stanford and Arizona State University. She has also authored a children’s picture book titled “Becoming Miss Navajo.”
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a volunteer women’s organization open to any woman 18 or older who can prove lineal descent from an American Revolution patriot.
