Bellevue School District Launches New Advisory Group for Educational Technology
The Bellevue School District recently announced the launch of a new Educational Technology Advisory group aimed at ensuring that the use of technology supports the district’s vision and mission. The group will be made up of students, families, educators, school leaders, and community members, and will focus on providing input on best and innovative practices in the use of educational technology to aid student learning and improve family access to information.
Mission and Purpose
The purpose of the Educational Technology Advisory group is to ensure that technology can effectively support the district’s vision and mission. This includes exploring emerging technology, such as artificial intelligence, and its role in education. Advisory members will work collaboratively to provide input on the best and most innovative practices in the use of educational technology, helping to shape the district’s approach to technology implementation.
Meeting Schedule
The group will meet at least quarterly on Microsoft Teams for approximately 90 minutes beginning in the spring of 2023. This will allow members to discuss progress and provide input on issues related to educational technology practices, emerging technologies, and their impact on student learning and family access to information.
Participation
The district encourages interested parties to apply to participate in the Educational Technology Advisory group. The group is seeking representation across the Bellevue School District learning community and welcomes applications from students, families, educators, school leaders, and community members. Participants will be accepted on a rolling basis to ensure diverse representation across the BSD learning community, but priority will be given to those applications received by Wednesday, April 19.
