Global Travel Marketplace West, an exclusive event catering to travel advisors on the West Coast, received an overwhelming number of applications this year. Held from July 11 to 13 at the luxurious Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson, Nevada, the event aimed to provide unique networking opportunities and hosted meetings for travel advisors.
An Event Similar to Global Travel Marketplace
Similar to the annual Global Travel Marketplace held earlier this year in Fort Lauderdale, Global Travel Marketplace West required travel advisors to submit applications. Once selected, they were matched with representatives from various travel companies for a series of networking appointments. It was crucial for advisors to reside in the western region of the United States or Canada and demonstrate individual sales of at least $800,000, or be an agency owner of a multimillion-dollar agency to be considered for one of the 125 spots at GTM West.
The Event’s Success
The event received a significant number of applications this year, primarily through referrals from past attendees referred to as GTM Ambassadors. Jacqueline Hurst, the director of trade recruitment and engagement for Northstar Travel Group, the company responsible for organizing the GTM events (Northstar is also the parent company of Travel Weekly), reported the success of this year’s event.
