GOP’s culture war seen via “woke food” boycotts.

Conservative public figures often use the term “woke” without being able to define it, and they frequently target companies for supposed leftist stances. These boycotts can involve bizarre actions, such as when Sean Hannity fans destroyed their Keurig coffee machines after the company pulled its ads from his show. Bud Light is the latest brand to face a boycott, after conservatives criticized the brand’s partnership with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney. Congresswoman Dan Crenshaw attempted to boycott the beer by filling his fridge with a product made by Bud Light’s parent company. Tucker Carlson similarly railed against M&M’s, accusing the candy brand of promoting androgyny and obesity. Similarly, Newsmax host Greg Kelly claimed that Oreo’s promotion of LGBTQ+ rights was unnecessary and criticized the brand for supposedly meddling with the neutral quality of cookies.
