4-Year-Old Girl Searches for Plush Bear with Recording of Dead Mother’s Heartbeat
A beloved plush bear with sentimental value has been accidentally donated to the Tazewell Goodwill in Tennessee, leaving a 4-year-old girl and her family desperate to retrieve it. The Build-A-Bear is described as tie-dye or rainbow-colored, and contains a recording of the child’s mother’s heartbeat, making it an irreplaceable item for the grieving family.
Bear Accidentally Donated to Goodwill
The family is seeking help from the public in locating the lost bear. A Facebook post by WRIL shows an image of a similar bear and a note from Tazewell Goodwill, pleading for the bear’s return. “This bear is the only thing of a departed mother that a little girl has,” the note reads. “PLEASE if you have it, return to this store so we can reunite them.” Anyone who finds the bear is asked to return it to Tazewell Goodwill.
A Heart-Wrenching Loss
The bear’s recording of the late mother’s heartbeat has made its loss particularly traumatic for the family. The child is described as being heartbroken, and the family is offering reimbursement to whoever returns the bear. Anyone with information regarding the bear’s whereabouts is urged to call Tazewell Goodwill at 423-626-1909.
A Similar Tragedy
This is not the first time a beloved item with sentimental value has gone missing. A year ago, a family in Massachusetts lost a plush cat containing a vial of their father’s ashes. After the toy was accidentally donated to Saver’s, it was ultimately returned to the family.
