Borderlands 4 Rumor Clarified by Genvid Entertainment
Earlier today, news emerged regarding the supposed leak of the existence of Borderlands 4. The rumor began when actress Angie Jho Lee added the game to her online resume under the “voice over” section, alongside the character name “Aiyumi.” However, Genvid Entertainment has stepped forward to provide clarification.
According to Genvid, Angie Jho Lee’s involvement is not related to Borderlands 4. She is actually part of the cast for Borderlands EchoVision Live, an interactive streaming series. The company released a statement emphasizing that while the series exists within the Borderlands universe and is created in collaboration with Gearbox Entertainment, it should not be mistaken for a new Borderlands game.
To reflect the accurate role within the interactive series, Jho Lee’s resume has been updated accordingly. Meanwhile, another unconfirmed rumor originated from a LinkedIn page belonging to Nadia Danova, who listed “Borderlands 4” under her professional “Experience” section. However, the LinkedIn page has since been taken down, adding further uncertainty to the speculation.
Possibility of a New Borderlands Game and Other Franchise Developments
While the leaks surrounding Borderlands 4 have yet to be verified, Randy Pitchford, co-founder of Gearbox, previously hinted at the company’s work on a new installment in the Borderlands series. In a 2021 tweet, Pitchford mentioned exciting projects in progress and invited individuals with appropriate skills to join the action.
Moreover, beyond the potential of Borderlands 4, other developments are occurring within the Borderlands franchise. Recently, the South Africa ratings board leaked information that suggests the release of a comprehensive collection called The Borderlands Compilation: Pandora’s Box. This collection seems to encompass various elements of the franchise in one package.
Additionally, fans can anticipate the release of the Borderlands film, directed by Eli Roth, on August 9, 2024. This upcoming cinematic adaptation further contributes to the expanding universe of Borderlands.
