Tough Luck to Host ‘Nowt Daft’ Exhibition and Party in Shoreditch
Tough Luck, a community-based platform that originated in Newcastle during the lockdown, has announced that it will be hosting an exhibition and party in Shoreditch on April 1, from 7pm until late, called ‘Nowt Daft’. The event aims to showcase emerging youth culture photographers from around the world, with a focus on rave culture.
The forthcoming exhibition will take attendees on a journey into modern-day rave culture through photographs of underground parties and the individuals who make up the subculture. The photography on view will highlight the energy and diversity of this vibrant culture and its existence in spaces ranging from abandoned warehouses to packed dance floors.
Attendees must be over 18, and there will be a BYOB policy. “I believe that underground photography has the power to capture the energy and excitement of subcultures in a way that mainstream photography often can’t,” explains founder Jordan Taylor. “Throwing events such as the exhibition is a great way to meet up, network and have a laugh with the people who are part of these amazing subcultures.”
Supporting The Photography Foundation
The event will also be making a donation to The Photography Foundation, an organization that helps young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain long-term employment through the art of photography. Funds will be raised for the charity at the exhibition by selling its official zine.
Tickets Now Available
Tickets for the event are available now, with options for either daytime or evening entry. It’s an excellent opportunity for individuals to experience the vitality of modern-day rave culture and explore the art of youth culture photography.
