Doja Cat Gets Uncomfortable Preparing for Paris Fashion Week
Singer Doja Cat dazzled at Paris Couture Week wearing 30,000 hand-placed Swarovski crystals. However, the star revealed in a recent interview with L’Officeil that the preparation process was less glamorous than the final look.
The Arduous Preparation Process
Doja Cat explained that the process began at an ungodly hour, which left her unprepared for the long day ahead. To make matters worse, she suffered from gastroenteritis on the day of the event, adding to the already high-stress situation. Despite feeling physically unwell, Doja Cat praised the professionalism and kindness of her makeup and glam team who helped her cope.
“The whole crew was so sweet. The whole glam team was so understanding and so sensitive and kind. It was great and very professional,” Doja Cat said.
Four Hours and 58 Minutes of Dedicated Work
The final look, titled “Doja’s Inferno,” was the result of four hours and 58 minutes of dedicated work by Doja Cat’s glam team led by celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath. The team painted Doja Cat’s skin with red paint and covered the singer in glue, dust, and gold dust before placing 30,000 Swarovski crystals one-by-one. Doja Cat compared the experience to having multiple people twirl a knife on her body.
The Final Product was Well Worth the Struggles
Despite the struggles Doja Cat faced in preparation, the final outcome was well worth it. Doja Cat shared that she was “very, very proud of it”.
