Climate Chaos: The Cost of Ignoring Changes

The Hidden Cost of Ignoring Climate Changes

As our society continues to move forward, the cost of our survival becomes more evident. Climate changes have permeated into every corner of the world, and nature is pushing back; hurricanes are now more frequent, forest fires are scorching vast areas across the globe, and the temperature continues to rise.

Ignoring these changes won’t make them go away. Instead, we have to face them head-on and take appropriate action to mitigate their impact. Here’s what we could be facing if we continue ignoring nature’s call for attention:

Extreme Weather Conditions

Global warnings have caused severe weather patterns like heatwaves, cyclones, and rare floods that can cause destruction to properties and human lives. Changes in the weather have adverse effects on economies. Hurricane Dorian alone is estimated to have caused over $3.5 billion worth of damages when it hit the Bahamas in 2019.

The only way to avoid the high cost of building back after horrific situations is by adopting new technologies and rehabilitation methods that can help curb extreme weather occurrences.

Agricultural Woes

The rising heat index is causing food crops not to grow at plantation sizes. Our organic habitat can only thrive in favorable climate temperatures, and its incapacity eventually causes food scarcity. For example, the drought region within Africa faces food crises, insufficient feeding for the residents, and an ever-growing undernourished population. Africa is a typical example of how ignoring global warming and climate conditions have brought political wars searching for arable land and resources.

Health Disasters

As weather patterns change human health is also affected. Heat exhaustion, respiratory disease, and other health challenges increase because polluted air eventually increases respiratory challenges. Risk of ozone depletion increases and temperature does, as caused excessive global warming causing more occurrences of diseases such as malaria and measles. Proper health-risk communication should encourage preventive measures among populations vulnerable to climate changes to prevent surging medical demand and promote public health globally.

Solutions

Policies on greenhouse emissions and nurturing indigenous vegetation conservation should spearhead response and intervention measures from industry and policymakers. Aids like Green bonds, energy generation policies allied to renewables scale production, and GHG emissions are promising ways of draining money to more acceptable options by leveraging private investments.

Rotational farming systems, water conservation initiatives, and traditional farming tactics offer a countermeasure approach to climate changes. We all can see, experience and embrace a more supporting low carbon approach with renewable energy, energy traces that cooperate with producing inventiveness as nations brace reshaped social economic structures whose agenda is more affordable to attain low carbonability economies.
