There’s something magical about the art of photography. It’s fascinating how a single picture can convey a whole story – a snapshot of a moment in time that can last forever. I have always been a keen appreciator of this art form but only in the last few years, have I had the privilege, as a photographer, to capture those special moments myself.

Discovering the Passion: How I Got My Start in Photography

For me, my love for photography was kindled on a trip to New Mexico. I had been on a hike with friends when I spotted this vista with a sunset reaching to the horizon. I took out my phone and clicked a photo; it was a striking image that had many of my friends in awe. This feeling of ‘capturing’ an extraordinary moment thoroughly exhilarated me; it was like discovering another layer of the world.

Later that week, I happened to find an old digital camera that my siblings had used, and my journey as a photographer began.

From shifting postures to trying new angles or editing in tools, like Photoshop; I have learnt and grown a lot as a photographer. Each photo shoot helps you evolve, introduces new ideas for creative shots, and offers you a unique perspective on subjects. I have been fortunate to photograph some incredible people and places in my experiences such as weddings, fashion or wildlife photography – this, to me, is the perfect balance between enjoying photography and learning it every day.
