Arnold Schwarzenegger Fixes Los Angeles Pothole
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former California governor and actor, took matters into his own hands when he and a helper filled a large pothole on a road in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. The incident was captured in a video that he tweeted on Tuesday, where he can be seen using packaged concrete to repair the damage caused by recent winter storms.
A Prompt Reaction to Neighborhood Complaints
In a tweet, Schwarzenegger revealed that he and his team acted on complaints from residents who were upset about the pothole causing issues for cars and bicycles in the area. He wrote, “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go.”
A Neighbors Grateful Response
While Schwarzenegger was busy filling the pothole, a neighborhood resident drove by and expressed gratitude for the actor’s prompt action. Schwarzenegger responded graciously, clad in work boots, a leather jacket, and shades, looking like his iconic Terminator.
A Dire Need for Repairs
The Los Angeles Department of Public Works reported receiving a staggering number of requests from residents for street repairs following the winter storms. Officials stated that out of 19,692 service requests received since December 30, 17,549 potholes had been filled by April 6. Despite these efforts, many damage-ridden streets across the city still require attention, including the pothole in Brentwood that Schwarzenegger repaired.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words
While the authorities work to repair Los Angeles’s damaged streets, Schwarzenegger’s quick response to a severe problem reminds us of the importance of taking responsibility for local issues.
