April 18 high school sports summary.

High School Varsity Action from Tuesday, April 18

Tuesday, April 18 saw some fantastic high school action across multiple sports. Here are some of the standout performances:

Girls Lacrosse Results

Indian Creek 11, Annapolis Area Christian School 8: Abbey Bunker and Molly Bunker combined for 11 points to lead Indian Creek to victory. Sophee Gomberg also contributed a goal and two assists, while Elia Alewine made 16 saves to protect the lead.

McDonough 12, Glenelg County School 8: Amanda Lawson and Sofia Trahan each scored four goals for McDonough, leading them to the win. Kate Levy and Payton Madgey also added two goals apiece. Regan O’Donava made six saves in goal. Blair Byrne scored four goals for Glenelg County in a losing effort.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes 20, Tome School 6: Emma Carpenter and Vicky Meeker scored six and five goals, respectively, leading FCA to a dominant win. Andie Hull contributed four goals and seven assists to the effort. Landen Cain and Alivia Carrillo scored hat tricks for Tome School.

Southern 16, Northeast 3: Jordan Fanzo’s five goals led Southern to a decisive win. Charlie Haley, Nathan Holaus, Alhaji Shaw and James Raymond also scored two goals each for the Bulldogs. Xavier Wilson made six saves on defense. Matthew Hieatzman scored twice for Northeast, while Luke Fox made 14 saves.

Softball and Baseball Results

Towson 11, Sparrows Point 9: Towson roared back from a 9-4 deficit to win with a seven-run sixth inning. Julianna Leatherwood had a big game with three hits and four RBIs, including a home run. Molly Mohr and Hannah McElhenney also had three hits and two RBIs each.

Eastern Tech 9, Catonsville 2: Audrey Coker’s 4-for-4 performance with two RBIs led the Mavericks to victory. Sydney Weaver also contributed three hits and two RBIs. Gracie Himmelman and Hayden Gilpatrick also drove in runs. Pitcher Malorie Gogel threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Carver A&T 18, Hereford 1: Carver A&T jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, winning by a big margin. Emily Hamp went 4-for-4 and drove in seven runs, while Mallory Cooper had four hits and three RBIs. Tabitha Bourne also had two hits and three RBIs. Pitcher L Dennis threw a one-hitter with six strikeouts.
