Scientists Spot Pointy Protrusions on Mars, Suggesting Alien Spaceship Crash-Landing
Scientists have claimed that an alien spaceship may have crash-landed on the surface of Mars after they spotted strange pointy protrusions on its surface.
Unusual Rock Formations Observed by NASA’s Curiosity Rover
NASA’s Curiosity Rover in April photographed what looked like rows of spikes, plates, and wedges which protruded from rocks lying on the 96-mile (154 km) Gale Crater’s floor. These formations caught the attention of Dr. Nathalie Cabrol, an astrobiologist from NASA Ames Research Centre and the Seti Institute, who described it as “the most bizarre rock” in her 20 years of studying Mars.
“Sand Spikes” or Remnants of Extraterrestrial Spacecraft?
According to a new paper published in the Journal of Astrobiology, the formations might be “sand spikes” similar to those formed on Earth when earthquakes of magnitude seven and greater hit water-logged sands. However, researchers caution that a fragment from an extraterrestrial or terrestrial spacecraft cannot be discounted with absolute certainty. They point out that in a different part of the Gale Crater, images show what appears to be wheels, an axle, and a debris field.
Erosion and Speculation: Trying to Unravel the Mystery
Prof Richard Armstrong, the first author of the paper and a researcher at Aston University, suggests that the spikes and the enigmatic “wheels” may be separate phenomena. He also highlights that Mars images often show formations and features that resemble familiar objects, but there is no definitive proof. Over time, the spikes’ debris field may have been eroded by wind, making it harder to determine their origin.
Human-Made or Extraterrestrial?
Intriguingly, the authors of the paper mention the possibility that the spikes and their substrate are human-made debris that fell onto the surface of Gale Crater. However, they note that there is no evidence of a debris field or any additional debris originating from Earth. Given the lack of known analogues and the absence of a logical explanation for the purpose of these spikes, they speculate that it is unlikely they are remnants of craft or equipment. The true origins remain a matter of speculation and mystery.
