The AI-powered Chatbot That Helped a CEO Find Unclaimed Money
ChatGPT, an AI-powered chatbot, has made headlines recently for its ability to solve questions, generate codes, and even help with personal finances. According to reports, the chatbot was able to help a CEO in the US find and encash his unclaimed money. Joshua Browder, CEO of legal services chatbot DoNotPay, shared the story on Twitter.
How ChatGPT Helped Locate the Money
Browder asked ChatGPT to find him some money, providing his name, place, and date of birth. Within a minute, he received a response from the chatbot with information about his unclaimed money. The chatbot had visited an “obscure government website” called the California State Controller, which holds unclaimed refunds from companies who fail to contact the owners.
The Verification Process that Stopped the Chatbot
ChatGPT provided step-by-step instructions on how Browder could claim the money, but it was unable to complete a “reCAPTCHA verification” because it is an AI model. Luckily, Browder was able to follow the instructions provided by the chatbot and ultimately received $209.67.
