Adopted or Biological? The Debate Ends Here
The Great Debate
For a long time, adoptive families and biological families have been duking it out in the parenting arena. Many people believe that biological families are the best option for children’s wellbeing, while others believe that adoption is a better alternative. Despite years of heated debate, there are some compelling arguments for both sides, but the debate ends and ultimately comes down to one thing: which family can provide a safe and stable environment for the child.
Adoption- The Alternative
Adoption has been existing for ages and is widely popular in providing a chance for people to become a parent. It involves providing the legally authorized transfer of parental rights and responsibilities of a child between birth parents, persons, and government-authorized resource family which can include adoptive parents.
In recent years, many infertile couples who so very much long to have their child often delve into adopting children from individuals who are willing to place them in a new home, thus creating a whole a new family. Adoption extends love, support, care, and hope to young and vulnerable children who would otherwise have wandered in orphanages with a chance to explore opportunities to flourish and be happy.
Biology- Nature Vs Nurture
From a traditional point of view, biology is crucial in parenting. Biologically having a child seems to be the only way to continue the lineage, transmit genes and traits. The biology argument for some spans down to predispositions such as talents, temperament, and other genetic factors that have a direct influence on a child. However, in truth, these qualities at times may not be equivalent to optimal care-giving.
Another driven belief is the psychological urge to have a mini-me which will look and love them just as they are. Scientific research argued that, ”in reality, DNA doesn’t determine everything. Nurture after birth still plays a significant role in the shaping and forming of children into the human beings they’ll become.
Conclusion: Which Is Better?
In the end, the debate between Adoption or having a biological child should cease. Ultimately, the child deserving, “a loving and stable” together. According to American Adoption Organization, America Adopts`, “Adopted families document their relative satisfaction with their adopted children no differently than non-adopted families.” It is beyond doubt that adoption indirectly offers an equal chance at quality upbringing and a sense of belonging.
It is every human right to have and propagate, but it is keen observability and responsible nurturing the transformation of biological offspring into exemplary members of society is cohesive, compliments nurture also to subjugate prejudice-based discrimination.
