Alabama governor aims to bolster school choice.

In a recent appearance on Alabama Public Television’s “Capitol Journal,” Gov. Kay Ivey announced that her office is working on a school choice plan for the 2024 session. She stated that an education savings account bill will be presented to the Alabama Legislature next year. Ivey expressed her goal of making Alabama the most school choice-friendly state in the nation, providing parents with a variety of options for their children’s education. She emphasized the importance of giving parents the freedom to choose between public, private, or homeschooling, with the ultimate goal of ensuring all children receive a quality education.
